25W600 Block of Red Maple Ln.

WARRENVILLE, Ill. — At approximately 5:51 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021, the DuPage Public Safety Communications Center (DUCOMM) received a 911 call from a resident reporting a hot tub fire on the rear deck of a house in the 25W600 Block of Red Maple Lane, an area of Wheaton that lies within the Warrenville Fire Protection District boundaries. A structure fire response was dispatched sending fire units from the Warrenville Fire Protection District along with assistance from surrounding communities.

Warrenville Fire companies arrived on the scene in under seven minutes of the initial 911 call and reported a one-story single-family residential structure with smoke showing from the rear of the home. A neighbor on the scene notified crews that everyone was out of the house. Fire crews stretched a hose line to the rear of the structure where they found a hot tub and deck on fire that had extended to the home’s exterior. The fire was quickly extinguished while firefighters confirmed that no residents were in the home. Firefighters checked for hidden fire and fire extension into the structure and found that the fire was confined to the exterior of the structure only.

The Warrenville Fire Protection District was assisted on scene by the Wheaton Fire Department, the Winfield Fire Protection District, the Naperville Fire Department, the DuPage County Sheriffs, and the DuPage County Building Department.

No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of this fire. The cause of the fire was deemed to be undetermined at the time of this release.
