30W100 Block of Wildwood Court
WARRENVILLE, Ill. — At approximately 11:31 am on Saturday, February 10, 2024, the DuPage Public Safety Communications Center (DUCOMM) received a 911 call from a homeowner stating that their garage was on fire. A structure fire response sending three engines, two ladder trucks, a squad, three ambulances, and four Chief Officers were dispatched to the scene. While en route to the scene, DUCOMM alerted responding companies that one person may still be inside the home.

The first Warrenville fire unit arrived on the scene within 5 minutes of the initial 911 call and reported heavy smoke showing from the attached garage and front of the home. The Incident Commander along with police confirmed with the homeowner that all occupants had safely exited the structure. Warrenville fire companies forced entry into the building and applied water to the fire within two minutes of arriving on the scene. As other fire companies arrived, they assisted by conducting searches for victims, ventilating the structure, and checking for fire extension. The fire was deemed “under control” within 15 minutes of the first arriving fire company.

The Warrenville Fire Protection District was assisted on the scene by the Winfield and West Chicago Fire Protection Districts, and the Fermilab and Naperville Fire Departments. The Warrenville Police Department, City of Warrenville Building Code Officials, and Nicor and ComEd utility companies also provided assistance.

This was the second structure fire in two days for the Warrenville Fire Protection District. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation through cooperation with the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force. No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of this fire. The home was deemed uninhabitable, and the family is working with the American Red Cross for housing and assistance.
