29W500 Block of Country Ridge Drive


WARRENVILLE, Ill. 􀂲 At approximately 7:47 am on Friday, April 12, 2024, the DuPage Public Safety Communications Center (DUCOMM) received a 911 call from a citizen reporting a fire in a two-bedroom apartment in the 29W500 Block of Country Ridge Drive in Warrenville, IL. DUCOMM immediately dispatched an automatic fire alarm response to the scene. DUCOMM subsequently received more information, with the help of a language interpreter, from the caller who stated the fire was in the kitchen. At 7:51 am the incident was upgraded to a structure fire response bringing two additional engines, one ladder truck, one heavy rescue squad, two ambulances, and four chief officers to the scene.


The first Warrenville fire unit arrived on the scene within 5 minutes of the initial 911 call and reported heavy smoke showing from the third floor. Companies met the resident outside who reported that the fire was on the stove and is had been put out. This was confirmed by on-scene companies within approximately three minutes of arriving on scene. Fire companies checked the apartment and found extensive damage isolated to the kitchen. The apartment was deemed to be uninhabitable.


The Warrenville Fire Protection District was assisted on scene by the Winfield Fire Protection District, and the Wheaton and Naperville Fire Departments. The Warrenville Police Department also aided on the scene.


The cause of the fire was investigated by Warrenville Fire Protection District fire investigators and the cause was determined to be accidental in nature. No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of this fire.
