3S200 Block of Briarwood Drive

WARRENVILLE, Ill. — at approximately 7:17 am on Sunday August 11, 2024 the DuPage Public Safety Communications Center (DUCOMM) received a 911 call from a caller stating that there was a fire in the garage of their residence.

The first Warrenville fire unit arrived on scene in less than six minutes of the initial 911 call and reported what appeared to be an extinguished fire that involved the front exterior of a multi-family residential structure. First arriving crews confirmed that the occupants had escaped the home safely and immediately deployed a charged hose line and began checking to ensure that the fire was in fact extinguished and had not extended into other areas of the building. As mutual aid fire and emergency medical crews arrived, they assisted with the overhaul operations and verified that no other residents were trapped or injured. The fire was determined to be extinguished within fifteen minutes of arriving on scene and the home was deemed habitable due to the quick actions of all involved.

The Warrenville Fire Protection District was assisted on scene by the Lisle-Woodridge, Winfield, and West Chicago Fire Protection Districts; and the Wheaton and Naperville Fire Departments. The Warrenville Police Department also provided aid.

No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of this fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
