30W000 Block of Maplewood Drive
WARRENVILLE, IL. – April 4, 2026 -The Warrenville Fire Protection District (WFPD) successfully extinguished a structure fire this morning at a single-story residential building, where crews also made a rescue of the occupant. One individual sustained injuries and was transported for medical care.
The DuPage Public Safety Communications Center (DUCOMM) received a 911 call from the occupant reporting a fire inside the residence at 1:17 AM on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The first WFPD unit arrived on the scene within five minutes of dispatch and immediately reported heavy smoke showing from the front of the wood-frame residence. The first arriving engine company rapidly deployed a hose line inside the building and coordinated with the truck company to search the building, find and remove the occupant, and transfer care to awaiting paramedics. Other fire companies conducted searches to confirm the building was clear of additional residents. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes of the first companies arriving. The rapid response and effective extinguishment operations resulted in approximately $100,000 in property being saved.
After the fire was extinguished, fire companies conducted salvage and overhaul operations to protect property and to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force Investigators have yet to determine a cause for the fire. The Warrenville Fire Protection District extends its thanks to the assisting agencies that provided assistance at this fire, including the City of Warrenville Police Department, City of Naperville Fire Department, City of Wheaton Fire Department, West Chicago Fire Protection District, Winfield Fire Protection District, North Aurora Fire Protection District, and the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force.
The Warrenville Fire Protection District reminds the community that maintaining a clean residence free of debris is essential for both safety and overall well-being. Accumulated clutter can create fire hazards, obstruct emergency exits, and increase the risk of trips and falls, particularly in high-traffic areas. By consistently keeping living areas organized and free of unnecessary debris, individuals can create a safer, more comfortable home for themselves and their families.
