WARRENVILLE, IL – April 28, 2026 – The Warrenville Fire Protection District responded to and quickly contained a residential structure fire this morning at a two-story townhouse. No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.
DUCOMM received a 911 call reporting a fire at approximately 7:18 AM. WFPD units were dispatched immediately and arrived on scene within minutes.
Upon arrival, crews identified a fire originating in the garage area. All residents and their dog had safely exited the home prior to the arrival of fire personnel. Firefighters deployed hose lines and initiated an aggressive attack, successfully containing the fire to the garage area shortly after arrival.
Due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of responding crews, the fire was confined to the area of origin. While the garage sustained extensive damage, there was little to no significant impact to the main living areas or overall structure of the residence. The home remains habitable. Preliminary estimates indicate the fire caused less than $100,000 in damage.
Firefighters conducted overhaul operations to ensure complete extinguishment and to prevent any extension of the fire. No additional operational challenges were encountered during the incident, and crews mitigated the situation quickly and efficiently.
The fire was determined to have been caused by cooking.
The Warrenville Fire Protection District was assisted on the scene by the Warrenville Police Department, Naperville Fire Department, Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, West Chicago Fire Protection District and Winfield Fire Protection District.
