Ladder My Building: Community Partnership Program
The Warrenville Fire Protection District is proud to introduce the Ladder My Building Program, a new community partnership initiative designed to enhance emergency preparedness, strengthen relationships with local businesses and organizations, and improve firefighter readiness.
During an emergency, every second matters. The Ladder My Building Program provides firefighters with the opportunity to become familiar with local facilities before they are needed most. Through scheduled visits, participating businesses invite Fire District personnel to their property to review building access, evaluate emergency considerations, and better understand the unique features of their facility.
During each visit, firefighters will:
- Conduct a building exterior walk-around and site review
- Evaluate apparatus placement and ladder access
- Review important features such as hydrants, fire department connections, utilities, entrances, and access points
- Identify building-specific considerations that may impact emergency response
- Gather information to support pre-incident planning
This program benefits both the Fire District and participating organizations by improving communication, increasing familiarity with local buildings, and supporting safer, more efficient emergency operations.
Participating businesses will be recognized as a Ladder My Building Partner and receive a certificate of appreciation recognizing their commitment to community safety and preparedness.
Program visits typically take 15–30 minutes and are scheduled around normal emergency response operations.
