Heat Safety Reminder
HEAT SAFETY REMINDER ![]()
With high temperatures in full swing, it’s important to stay safe and cool. Here are some key tips to protect yourself and others during extreme heat:
Stay hydrated with plenty of water—even if you’re not thirsty. Avoid sugary, caffeinated, or alcoholic drinks.
Spend time in air-conditioned places during the hottest parts of the day. If needed, visit a cooling center, library, or mall.
Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a wide-brimmed hat for sun protection.
Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) and reapply regularly.
Limit strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke—heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, headache, and rapid pulse. Seek medical attention if needed.
